Laurens County EMS participated in the funeral procession of Paramedic, Sara Weaver, Florence County EMS, who lost her life in the line of duty on August 9th, 2022. Paramedic Weaver was struck by a vehicle along with two law enforcement officers and her patient while working a traffic accident. Her and her patient both lost their lives while the two deputies where injured but survived. Agencies from across the state and neighboring states all attended to show support and the impact she made on the emergency services family. Laurens County EMS wants to extend our condolences to Florence County EMS and her family along with the family of the patient who died during this tragic event.
At this time, we want to remind the public that when they see emergency lights to move over or slow down. This is done for the safety of the responders, the people involved in the incident, and your safety.
